Noriko is a passive and calm person. When faced with danger, she'll maintain an unperturbed demeanor, for the most part. Generally, she stays optimistic, and tries to keep other people going whenever she thinks they need it. However, she is quite slow mentally, leading her to be unable to detect when others do need some cheering up. Although, when she does attempt to help others, she will be very sincere about it. Despite having a low level of common sense, Noriko still manages to make good grades. She is bad at keeping track of things and organizing, but she doesn't really care about it that much. While other people may judge her for her size, she, on the other hand, does not mind her own weight. She dislikes facing prejudice, but at the same time, doesn't let what other people say get to her.

History:

Noriko was born and raised in Matsushita, along with three other siblings. In her family, being overweight was a natural part of their genes. And, because of it, her and her siblings were often teased for it at school. Noriko, surprisingly, handled it better than the rest of her siblings. For years, her siblings loathed having to go to school. Noriko, on the other hand, simply brushed it off. At first, she felt hurt whenever someone would insult her. Over the span of a few years, however, she had gotten used to it. She would tell herself a simple mantra each morning to reassure herself.

One night, when two of her brothers came home that day, blubbering messes with bruises on their faces, the entire family had a meeting. They all discussed what was happening at school. Her sister had already reported numerous bullies to the principal. However, that still wasn’t helping. Noriko finally revealed the mantra she came up with to the rest of her family: “You are better than them. Don’t subject, don’t feel ashamed.”

After that night, the family had all gotten a little closer.

 

Noriko never really liked to talk to others at school much. She definitely was not an introvert, but it was just plain to see that she didn’t really like anybody there. She was friends with this one girl, who was at least somewhat nice. But, that was it. To make up for the time of talking to others, she would read. And, eventually, she started to write.

Writing was a newfound talent that she took great passion in. Although she started out with amazingly horrible fanfictions of her favorite animes and Korean dramas, still, it was a good start. She spent whatever free time she had during school reading and writing.

When she first attended Fukuyama, she loved it. The students there were much kinder than the ones at her other schools. Thankfully, Noriko's cheery aura seemed to also have an effect on her siblings as well; she wasn't the only one who was finally happy.

Not only were her siblings more happy, but so was Noriko. She befriended more people. She became a little more social. She spend more time with her family. She learned how to play the piano. She became a better writer, and an even better person. The new school had given her a promising start to a great future.

Finding out about the school’s closing put her into despair. When the anonymous note was put up, Noriko thought that it was a strange, off-timing April Fool’s joke. However, she soon learned that it was a legitimate thing. It didn’t take long for Noriko to realize that this very club, as ridiculous as it sounded, could possibly save the school from being closed—and she would absolutely try her hardest to keep it going.
